Yellow daf-S daf-S formed the centerpiece and nvers were laid for twelve. Games Slowed supper with prizes going f0 ilouise Jensen and Myrl Diamond. Dia-mond. t Lester Hansen who is employed ! I t Escalante spent the weekend at I ome with his family. Mrs Hansen 11 ? return with him Friday and Jhey will make their home there this summer. Sunday dinner guests at the Hansen home were their daughter Shirley and her husband John Boyd and family ofProvo. Hush Hjorth was home for the weekend. He has been supervising-a supervising-a pipe installation project for the Atomic Energy reactor plant at Arco Idaho. This contract will require' re-quire' several weeks for completion. Lynn Bird who has completed Ws basic training in the army at Fort Carson, Colo., is home on a two week furlough. Lynn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. LaVell Bird. A Cub Scout pack meeting was held for the Mapleton wards last Thursday evening in the church ' with Leonard Harris in charge. Tho theme of tho evening was "Knights of Yore", and each den presented "skits" with this in mind. A new den was organized which will be known as den six and they have selected Grace Burrows Bur-rows ns den mother. Rebecca Fullmer has resigned as don mother for den five and Mary Carnesecca has been chosen to take her place. She will be assisted assist-ed by Janet Carnesecca. Den fathers were in charge of the games which were played in relays which afforded fun for all. Awards were given to the following fol-lowing boys: bob cat, Sherald Tak-ahashi; Tak-ahashi; wolf, Dean Warren, Wayne Stone and Eddie Seip; arrow point awards, Gerry Clements, J. M. Campbell, Reed Barker, Gary Ellis, John Williams, Edward Joe Hal-vorson Hal-vorson and David Heath. Mrs. Myrtle Bird is visiting at the home of her son Larry and his wife in California. She will be gone several weeks. On account of general conference confer-ence next week the Relief Society of the Mapleton Second ward will hold their weekly meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, April 5, instead of 2 o'clock on Monday the 4th. The officers and teachers of the Mapleton Primary were entertained entertain-ed at the home of Phyllis Johnson Monday night. Helen Campbell gave the lesson and the remainder of the evening was spent in making mak-ing ribbon and paper corsages to be worn by officers of Kolob stake at general conference. Irene Freeman, Free-man, Delna Cazier and Dorthy Parry assisted the hostess in serving serv-ing refreshments. Cal Johnson left Monday for Las Vegas and his wife left Tuesday and will join him there for a combined com-bined business and pleasure trip. They plan on staying a week. Mrs. Aida Lee was taken to the Utah Valley hospital Saturday for treatment for pneumonia. , Mr. and Mrs. Joe Newman of Logan were weekend visitors with friensd and relatives. The M Men and Gleaners of the Mapleton wards met at the home of Marilyn Whiting Sunday evening. even-ing. The guest speaker was Paul Hill, a returned missionary who spoke of his missionary experiences. experien-ces. Assisting Marilyn with serving serv-ing twenty one guests were Gale Christensen and Ruth Ann Jensen. A class In upholstery was given to the women of the. Mapleton wards five days last week. County agents Jenevieve Poulson and Josie Vincent were" the instructors. Those who completed the course were Delna Cazier, Beth Bird, Phyllis Johnson, Gladys Parry, Ethel Jensen, Dortha Lee, Marva Whiting, Joyce Whiting, Zora' Hales, Barbara Murray and Blanch Tew. - A one act play entitled "TJ. S. Revolt," directed by Stanley Jensen, Jen-sen, was presented in the MIA of the Mapleton Second ward Monday night. The cast included Jolene Hooper, Ann Wiscombe, Maurine Pulsifer, Norma Hatfield, Mary Ann Bird, Yvonne Hurst, Jimmy Wiscombe, Jessie Warren and Warren War-ren Davidson.- Jack Morgan assisted with the make-up. This play was presented again Tuesday night to the members of the Mapleton ward. |
