Show Officials Inspect Road Projects In Hobble Creek Utah county officials, with Springville Chamber of Commerce representatives and foresters inspected in-spected the improvements going on in Hobble Creek canyons the latter part of last week, according to A. L. Thorpe, highway chairman chair-man of the C. of C. Included in the party were Commissioners Sterling Jones, Verl Dixon, Hugo Price, engineer; Milton Giles, road supervisor; Mayor A. W. Cherrington; President Pres-ident E. S. Groesbeck of the C. and C. and Mr. Thorpe. They noted the grading finished in the right hand fork of the canyon can-yon ready for oil and inspected the improvements in the left hand fork. Later they traveled over Hog's Back into Diamond Fork canyon, where the forestry is doing do-ing work in flooded areas, and then down Diamond Fork canyon. Oiling of the right hand fork will take place the latter part of next month, Mr. Thorpe said, about seven miles being improved. In the left hand fork, about 4 miles will be oiled. Under supervision of the county, coun-ty, a new 20-foot bridge is also being constructed over Hobble Creek, giving an outlet for travel tra-vel from Mapleton to Hobble Creek canyon. |
