Show 'Springville Lady Honored at Pioneer Day Fete Mrs. Selena Kelsey had the distinction dis-tinction and honor of being one of only 16 immigrant pioneers in attendance at-tendance as guests of honor at the Pioneer Days, parade in Salt Lake City July 24th and the DUP luncheon lunch-eon at noon at Hotel Utah. There are only 56 living immigrant immi-grant pioneers of the 86,000 who crossed the plains to Utah before the advent of the railroad in 1869. Mrs. Kelsey came with the last company who crossed the plains before the railroad. With her daughter Effie, Mrs. Kelsey went to Salt Lake City on the Denver and Rio. Grande railroad rail-road and was taken in taxie to her seat of honor! for the parade. ' At the luncheon at the hotel, she was interviewed by visiting officials offic-ials along with other honored guests. The oldest in attendance was Ruth May Pox, who is 100. |
