Show i ' Leaving to Fill Latter-day Saint Missions . . . : . -.. .J I ' f - 'j Mrs. Emily Miner Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hjorth Farewells Set Sunday , for Missionaries Otis Hjorths Honoring Mr. and Mrs. Otis A. Hjorth, who are leaving soon to fill a 2-year mission in California, Cali-fornia, a farewell testimonial program pro-gram will be given in the Second-Eighth Second-Eighth Ward church Sunday evening eve-ning beginning at 7:30 p.m. All friends of the couple, who will enter the mission home next Wednesday Wed-nesday are invited. The program arranged in their honor is as follows: song, congregation, congre-gation, "Our Mountain Home So Dear," invocation, Paul Hjorth; sacrament song, "The Lord Is My Shepherd," vocal solo, Robert Pierce, speaker, Pres. Ernest A. Strong; organ solo, Mary S. Boyer; remarks, missionaries and Bishop Ruel Crandall; song, "Love at Home," benediction, Carlos Hjorth. Mrs. Emily Miner The program planned for Sunday Sun-day evening at 5:45 p.m. to honor hon-or Mrs. Emily Miner, representing the Eighth Ward in the mission field is announced as follows: the-opening the-opening song, "O Ye Mountains High," invocation, Bishop Frank Jensen, sacrament song, "Secret Prayer;" speaker, Oliver Dalton; organ solo, Mrs. Mary J. Boyer; remarks, M. F. Miner; duet, Mrs. Ellen Anderson ana Mrs. Evelyn Boyer accompanied by Mrs. Al-zada Al-zada Wilmott; talk, Bishop Edward Ed-ward Boyer; response, Mrs. Miner; closing song, "We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet," benediction, E. S. Groesbeck. Mrs. Miner will go to the North Central States mission and will enter the mission home October 20. ? Drexel Pate A farewell testimonial will be given for Drexel Pate next Sunday, October 17, in the Mapleton First ward church at 7:30 p.m. Drexel is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Pate and has completed two years at the Agricultural College in Logan. He has been living in California this summer where he has been employed at the Douglas Air Craft Plant and is expected home some time this week to make preparations for his mission to the Texas, Louisiana Mission, The following program has been arranged for his farewell Sunday night: song, congregation; prayer, Lynn Bird; song, congregation; clarinet solo, Pat Bills; talk, patriarch pa-triarch Oscar Whiting; vocal solo, LuAnn Stevens; talk, Bishop Wel-by Wel-by Warren; organ solo, Boyd Hales; remarks by parents of missionary; mis-sionary; talk by missionary; song, congregation and benediction by Kay Tew. Drexel will leave Wednesday morning, October 20 for the mission mis-sion home in Salt Lake City. |
