Show Armistice Day Is Observed With School Programs Armistice Day, that day set aside to observe; the end of World War II, the war to end all wars, was observed casual-ally casual-ally in Springville. Most businesses busi-nesses went on as usual, only the postoffice and bank being closed. Special programs were presented pre-sented in the schools, the Legion sponsoring a special observance in the junior and senior high schools. ' The high school program featured Major Homer P. Anderson An-derson of the BYU R.O.T.C. course director, in a patriotic address. Patriotism, like charity, char-ity, begins at home; and along with the physical properties ' of armament, w need moral backing and a sincere belief in the future of our country, he told the students. Commander Com-mander Mack Collings of the local post American Legion, was in charg. |
