Show 'Collector Gives Information On Income Tax Filing All farmers, stockmen and farm laborers who have received $600 or more in gross income for 1950 must file a federal income tax return. re-turn. Gross income in the case of a farmer or stockman means total sales of farm products and livestock, live-stock, in the case of a farm laborer labor-er total wages. A completed return re-turn on form 1040 accompanied by form 1040F, schedule of farm income and expense, may be filed fil-ed by January 31, 1951. At your option you may file a declaration declara-tion of income on Form 1040-ES by January 15, 1951 and pay 66 and 2-3 per cent of the total tax that will be due on your final return and then file your completed complet-ed Form 1040 accompanied by form 1040F, schedule of farm income in-come and expense, by March 15, 1951. While most taxpayers will be able to prepare their returns themselves, a Deputy Collector of Internal Revenue will be at the City Hall Thursday, January 4,' 1951, at 9:30 to 4:30 to give any assistance needed. No charge will be made for this service. Information Returns All farmers or stockmen who have paid $600.00 or more in salaries, sal-aries, wages, rent, interest or other fixed or determinable income in-come must make a report on Form 1096 accompanied by Form 1099 showing the name and address add-ress of each person to whom such salaries, wages, rent, interest, ' or fixed or determinable income, has been paid during 1950. This report re-port must be filed with the commissioner com-missioner of internal revenue, in care of Processing Division, C. C. Station, Kansas City 2, Missouri on or before February 15, 1951. |
