Show Devil Track Club Battles Weather "Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, we wonder where the warm weather is." This could1 well be the sentiment of coaches George Pehrson and Alma Garrett, Gar-rett, who have had a battle with the elements the past few weeks in an attempt to get their spring sports program underway, under-way, j Although there has not been time enough to find out just who is the best in the various events, Coach Pehrson has a squad ready to go when the weather breaks. In the sprints, 100 and 220, are Ronny Biggs, who has had three years experience; ex-perience; Wayne Kunze and Bud Fullmer. In the half mile will be Wayne Ivy and Ross Stephens. Quarter mile, Gary Chamberlain; mile, Douglas Bird; Weights, George Black in the discus and shot. Others include in-clude Ranel Whitney, Ned Perkins Per-kins and Merril Bryan. Pole vault, Dennis Chadwick, Richard Rich-ard Hardy; High jump, Terry Curtis; Javelin, Richard Rawle, Harold Kunze; Hurdles, Paul Nielsen, Edward Allan, Dennis Chadwick, Dick Nielsen. Others out thus far include Don Moss, shot; and Kent Hunt and Tommy Tom-my Tingey. |
