Show Brookside School News, Activities Michael Gardner, news gatherer Sprinarville Banking Company was very good to Mrs. Lewis' first grade class last Friday when the class went down there for a visit Taylor Reynolds introduced us to his grandfather, H. T. Reynolds who is vice-president of the bank' and to Howard Maycock, the cashier. These two men took us all thrugh the bank and showed us the vaults, the money counters, and even some of the money. They had told us beforehand to each bring fifty cents. Well, they took our fifty cents from each of us, put another fifty cents with it and started a bank account for each of us, and gave each one a nice little bank to keep it in. The ones who already had bank accounts ac-counts got that much added. We are really going to be thrifty now, for some of us already have enough money in our banks to jingle. Mr. Frandsen's and Mrs. Whitney's Whit-ney's sixth grades had a new kind of class party Friday evening from 4:30 until 8. We invited the whole family of each student, Quite a few mothers, fathers, little lit-tle sisters and brothers, and even one grandmother came. We played play-ed duck stone, kick baseball and threw rocks at a porcupine which was so high in the tree that nobody no-body could do him any damage. We cooked our suppers, picked off the many woodticks, and when it became dark, we came home. We want to thank the parents who helped us have a good party. This Monday, Miss Iron's first grade went on a picnic for their noontime. They went down to the city park to visit the pioneer relic hall, to eat their lunch, and to play games. They had a good time. Our room mothers have done many nice things for us this year. We have enjoyed their wonderful won-derful help. Thank you, Mrs. Morgan, Mor-gan, Mrs. Bringhurst and Mrs. Cobbley. Mrs. Oakes' third grade went on a hike last Friday. They went up by the Spring Creek power plant. They saw a big jackrabblt with big long ears. Everyone u the class went and had a good dinner up there. We had a very good time. |
