Show i Springville Man Stabbed by Mear-Oid Girl Farlin Wood, state highway patrolman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Solon A. Wood of this city, underwent un-derwent surgery early Wednesday morning at the Dee Memorial hospital hos-pital in Ogden for a knife wound in the abdomen inflicted by a girl from the industrial school. His condition was believed not serious according to word telephoned by his wife to his parents here about 3 a.m. Wednesday. Farlin, who patrols the north Salt Lake area, had received word to take into custody a 16-year-old girl escapee from the industrial school. When he apprehended her, she was in company with a negro man and Farlin did not realize she was carrying a knife until she stabbed him. The knife cut through the fleshy part of the stomach but not into the intestines. intes-tines. Patrolman Wood was given first aid by police officers and taken to the Ogden hospital. Since taking over the patrolman patrol-man duties, Farlin and his wife, Betty, and family have made their home in Kaysville. |
