Show VANES OBSERVE 5 8TH WEDDING -ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Vane, Sr., observed their fifty eighth wedding wed-ding anniversary on Friday, June 23, as one of the longest married couples in the community. While no special celebration was planned because of Mr. Vane's health, many friends and relatives joined j to congratulate them. A resident of this city since ' 1S96, M. Vane has done much toward to-ward the upbuilding of the community. com-munity. He was one of the successful suc-cessful farmers of the vicinity (before (be-fore his retirement. In his early life he followed railroading and mining. He was born in Monroe County, N. Y. March 9, 1853, and came to Utah in 1874. Mrs. Lucina Clark Vane was born in Appanoose, county, Iowa. November 22, 1856 and crossed the plains with her parents, Hy-rum Hy-rum and Nancy Wood Clark by ox-team in 1864. The couple have three children, Mrs. B. M. Mendenhall, and Howard How-ard Vane of Springville and Joseph Jo-seph Vune of Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. |
