Mutual Improvement association Nf. activities for this season began Tuesday night, with an autumn L, social sponsored by the stake board for all ward ot'ticers and p teachers and their partners, mem-t;rs mem-t;rs of the stake presidency and ward bishopric. Approximately 150 people were in attendance. . A feature of the entertainment was a talk and the showing 01 a, moving picture slides by Professor H. R. Merrill ol the hs. Y. U., on the development of Utah and the progress 01 the L. D. S. church. ,J Preceding the main program j,. entertainment, which was under J the direction of Superintendent G. is: Lowry Anderson and President Vilate K. Reynolds, the stake board members and the ward of- ncers and teachers were intro-i intro-i duced. At the close of the social letreshments were served. On next Tuesday night, the I various ward organizations are scheduled to hold their opening ,p suClals. In the Second ward an 'It; especially entertaining program is I announced with a preview of the I year's work for 1937-38 to bo f given at 7:30 p. m., at the ward Hi; Hall. Kach group will represent an activity or project of the coming com-ing year and the officers will give a preview of the Mutual as a whole, following the program a dance will be held with music by . Howard Keains orchestra. All ward members are urged to be present. )B The First ward also announces an entertaining program with the presentation ot two short plays to be given in connection with other 1 program numbers.
