Mr. and Mrs. LaCelle Sumsion of Mayfield formerly of this city visited relatives and friends here, Sunday. Of special inTerest to her many friends here was the marriage of Miss Melba Roylance, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Roylance Roy-lance of this city, to D. J. Scal-manini Scal-manini of San Francisco, Calif, which took place in Reno, Rev., September 21. President Nathaniel Nathan-iel Hurst of the Reno L. D. S. stake performed the ceremony. Accompanying the bride and groom were Mr. and Mrs. Wittke also of San Francisco, Mrs. Wittke being the former Vera Packard of Springville. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrsj Scalmanini came to Springville to spend several sev-eral days with the bride's parents. They will make their home in San President N. G. Smith, his wife, Florence Smith, president of Relief Re-lief societies; Margaret Gordon, genealogical superintendent;. Elder Roy L. Huntington, superintendent superintend-ent of Sunday schools and Elder Fred L. Thompson all of California Califor-nia mission were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Brimhall Tuesday of this week. Elder Richard C. Mans and wife of Rupert, Idaho, Nelda Gardner and Sadie Conover of Mesa, Ariz., recently released from the California Cali-fornia mission visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Brimhall during the past week. The latter two are attending school at B.Y.U. Mr. and Mrs. John M. Hughes and son Dick of Provo, Utah, have left recently for Los Angeles, California, Cali-fornia, where Mr. Hughes will attend at-tend the University of Southern California Dental college. ! Mr. Gerwin B. Riding of Springville, Spring-ville, Utah, left recently for Los Angeles, Calif., where he will work for the iJacific Steel company. com-pany. . Mrs. Scalmanini has been employed in the Bank, of America in San Francisco for the past two years. The first regular meeting of the D. U. P. camp Aaron Johnson is scheduled to be held October 15, at the home of Mrs. Jennie Starr. All members are urged to-attend. to-attend. Mrs. Dennis Palfreyman spending the week with her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. R. H. Cornwall in Salt Lake City. The annual past officers party, of the American Legion will be held Friday, at 8 p. m. in Memor- Mrs. ' Louise Bulkley, 82-year-old pioneer resident of this City, with a party at her home Thursday afternoon. A short sketch of the life of Newman Bulkley was read by Mrs. Ina Gabbitas also some of the outstanding incidents in the life of Mrs. Bulkley were related and a number of poems and other tributes to her were given during the afternoon. A program of games and stunts followed by a tasty lunch were enjoyed by all. Mrs. Bulkley was presented with a small token from those in attendance. at-tendance. The guests included Mrs. Viola Beardall, Mrs. Max Beardall, Mrs. P. W. Crandall, Mrs. Joseph Hawkins, Mrs. Harvey Har-vey Hutrlhinson, Mrs. Kenneth ial hall, President Inez Chader announces. All auxiliary members are invited to attend. Miss Minnie Henderson of this city and Harold Walton of Salt Lake City were among the guests! at a dinner given by Miss Lyal Nuttall, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. L. John Nuttall at their home on Douglas street, Friday. The guests included friends who plau to attend school outside the state. Mr. Walton will leave this month for George Washington university, at Washington, D. C. ; Members of the Elite club were entertained Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Lela Nelson. A delicious hot supper preceeded bridge. Prizes for the evening's games were awarded to Mrs. Faye Snelson, Mrs. Harvey Hutchinson and Mrs. Crystal Poulsen. Others in attendance were Mrs. Flora Maiben, Mrs. Hazel Bird, Mrs. Marjorie Frandsen, Mrs. Bell Sumsion, Mrs. Delia Clark, Mrs. Jennie Brown, Mrs. Mabel Brown, and Mrs. La Von Bearnson, the latter two being guests. Miss Mytrle Childs accompanied by her sister, Mrs. L. K. Hansen of Ogden, who has been visiting here, and her mother, Mrs. A. O. Childs of this city spent the week end at Ogden. Mrs. Childs will remain there for about three weeks to visit Mrs. Hansen and other daughters, Mrs. Blanch Jensen Jen-sen and Mrs. Jennie Stephens and families. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Palfreyman Palfrey-man were honor guests at a surprise sur-prise .party given by their children chil-dren at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Clark Friday night, the occasion being Mrs. Palfreyman'? , sixty-sixth birthday anniversary. .
