Show Sugar Beet Work Scale Agreed On SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. ,21 Agreement on a sliding scale rate for payment of Utah and Idaho beet field workers was believed reached here today following an announcement by the agricultural adjustment administration. President J. R. Rawlins, Draper, Dra-per, head of the Utah Sugar Beet Growers' Cooperative association, indicated an end would result in the wage discussion. The new rates, set after AAA field investigations were made as requested by producers, are: Below Be-low eight tons per acre, $1.15; eight tons per acre, $1.12; nine tons, $1.09; 10 tons, $1.06; 11 tons, $1.03; 12 tons, $1.00; 13 tons, 97 cents; 14 tons, 95 cents; 15 tons, 93 cents; 16 tons, 92 cents; 17 tons, 91 cents; and 18 or , more, 90 cents. The rates will apply in fields under AAA in Utah, Idaho and east Oregon. Under Ihe new plan, topping and loading are combined in the single rate, growers to determine de-termine the division. R. T. Harris, president of Gunnison Gun-nison Sugar company, also .approved .ap-proved the plan. |
