Show CARNERA WINS OVER KLAUSNER RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 23 (U.H) Primo Camera prepared today to depart for the United States within a week, his South American Ameri-can boxing campaign ha-zing ended end-ed last night in a sux-round technical tech-nical knockout over Irving Klaus-ner Klaus-ner while 40,000 fans booed. Apparently the ex-champion could have flattened' the Esthon-ian Esthon-ian with a punch at any time after the opening gong. He chose to fiddle instead and refused two opportunities to land the finisher in the fifth and sixth rounds when Klausner was helpless. Responding to the booes, he nailed Klausner to the ropes in the latter part of the sixth, and belabored him. Then the towering tower-ing Venetian set himself, drew1 a bead and put his 265 pounds behind be-hind a right hanfl. In the early rounds Camera made no effort to fight and permitted per-mitted Klausner to punch himself out in a futile attack to the body. When Klausner aroused Camera's ire by punching with all his power, pow-er, Camera got busy for a moment, mo-ment, then settled down again to waltzing, until the crowd, including includ-ing notables, began to roar. Then he cut the scheduled 12 rounds in half. Louis Soresi, Camera's manager, man-ager, told the United Press they would be in New York by Feb. 11. |
