Show Italians Withdrawn From Spain Munich Peace Conference May Delve Into the Spanish War BY STEWART BROWN United Press Staff Correspondent ROME, Sept. 28 (I'.R) A hint that broader European problems than the Czech crisis would be considered at the Munich four-power four-power conference was given today to-day when authoritave sources reported re-ported that Italian volunteers had been ordered withdrawn frdm the Spanish civil war. It was said on reliable authority authori-ty as Premier Ben Ho Mussolini left for Munich that he had ordered or-dered immediate withdrawal of Italian forces fighting with the National Ait army in Spain. The presence of the Italians on Spanish Span-ish soil has been the chief obstacle ob-stacle to putting into effect the British-Italian friendship treaty keystone of Britain's prograVn for consolidating the peace of Europe. Reliable circles said further that evacuation of the Italians alreaiiy had started. i Mussolini was said to have reached a decision to withdraw the Italians after announcement that Nationalist Spain intended to remain neutral in any European conflict and after announcement by the Spanish Loyalist government govern-ment that foreign volunteers were being withdrawn from its army. |
