Only A. O. Ellett, Spanish Fork school teacher, and Democratic county chairman, came through with colors flying to win one of the two Democratic state senator designations. Ellett, who was backed strongly by the Democratic Demo-cratic organization, ran second in the first primary and proved by all odds the strongest candidate in the run-off.
