Show Clean - Up Campaign To Reach Climax Friday; Stores, Schools to Close The cooperation of every citizen citi-zen in this community is asked the general cleanup week campaign cam-paign now underway. A proclamation procla-mation has been issued by Mayor A. O. Thorn designating this week a.s city clean-up week and it is urged that everyone join to make the city a more attractive attrac-tive place in which to live. On Friday, March 25, until 1 p. m., all business concerns in the city will be closed so that all may join in the city cleanup movement. move-ment. Schools will remain ;closed during the day and students will be expected to clean streets and yards. As a special reward for grade students who assist with the ci'ty cleanup, a free picture show is being given in the afternoon, after-noon, beginning at 3 p. m. Beginning next month, the town will probably be visited by thousands thous-ands of art minded people. It is therefore the duty of everyone to make the city worthy of its name the Art Center, before the opening open-ing of the Seventeenth annual national art show here. "Rake up, Scrub up and; Paint up," should be the motto of every good citizen this week. |
