Show Willard Snow, Utah Pioneer, Passes Away Willard Snow, 83, pioneer of Wayne county and prominent1 L.D.S. church and civic worker, ! died Monday ni,Tbt at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Nielsen, Niel-sen, Second South and Second East streets, from causes incii dent to his advanced age. Mr. Snow was born in Salt Lake City, Dec. 9, 1853, a son of William and Anna - Rogers Snow, early Utah pioneers. He moved to Wayne county as a young man to assist in the colonization colon-ization of that community. Later, he was prominent as a rancher and stockman. He served as county assessor, commissioner and member of the school board, and moved to Richfield in 1918. He married Mary Melissa Meeks April 6, 1887, and she died in August, 1936. He had lived with his daughter in Springville for the past two months. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Nielsen, and the following sons: Willard M. Snow, Vulcan, Can.; Joseph A. Snow, Raymond, Alberta, Can.; Warren C, and John Snow, Richfield; Dr. William Wil-liam J. Snow, Houston, Tex. Also he leaves the following brothers and sisters: Dr. William J. Snow, Provo; O. H. Snow, Raymond, Ray-mond, Alberta, Can.; Mason Snow, Orangeville; Mrs. R. V. Gardner, Cedar City; Mrs. Celestia Gardner, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ozrow Gardner, Delta; Mrs. Reuben Gardner, Provo ; Mrs. Emma Burgess and Mrs. Rena Rencher, St. George; 29 grandchildren, grand-children, one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held in Bicknell, Utah, the time and place to be announced later. |
