Show SERVICES FOR S.H. TEW HELD Funeral services for Samuel Henry Tew, 92, a former resident of this city, who died at his home in Salt Lake Thursday, were conducted con-ducted here Sunday afternoon in the Fourth ward chapel with A. G. Thorn of the ward bishopric in charge. Wm. T. Tew, superintendent or the seminary, spoke at the services. serv-ices. Music was given by Miss Helen Palfreyman and Will Pary and R. B. Weight, accompanied by Mrs. Cecil Robertson. The invocation was offered by Leo Robertson and the benediction by President J. Emmett Bird of Kolob stake. Aaron Mendenhall dedicated the grave at the city cemetery. Mr. Tew was born in Berming-ham, Berming-ham, England January 20, 1842. He came to Utah with his parents, Thomas nd Anna Smith Tew. in 1855. The family first settled in Salt Lake and later came to Springville. Mr. Tew was .3. Black Hawk Indian war veteran. He had lived in Salt Lake for 30 years. Surviving are six sons and daughters, John A. and Edward S Tew, Los Angeles, Calif.; Ros-coe Ros-coe M. Tew, Mrs. Minnie E. Thomas, Mrs. Nellie I. Freshwater, Fresh-water, Mrs. Zclla Miner of Salt Lake; 27 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. |
