Show What's Doing In Kiwanis j. Ladies' of Kiwanis club members mem-bers will be special guests at a chicken dinner and card party at Chicken Roost Inn, Thursday evening. eve-ning. A large representation of club members is expected to attend. at-tend. Harrison Conover will act as toastmaster during the evening eve-ning and a good time is promised all. At the club meeting last Thursday Thurs-day evening it was decided to support J. F. Wingate for lieutenant lieu-tenant governor of the southern Kiwanis district. The meeting also featured an interesting talk by Dr. W. H. Tib-balls, Tib-balls, executive secretary of the Utah State Medical association on a movement to provide group medical care. Reports were made by club chairmen relative to the possibili-. possibili-. ty of having a public road, from Springville to Lake Shore and of having Hobble Creek road oiled. Dr. John R. Anderson was toasc-master toasc-master for the evening. In cennection with the Utah -! Idaho Kiwanis district convention to be held at Sun Valley, September Septem-ber 11, 12 and 13. Secretary D. B. Welch reports that reservations should be made for every local club member and his partner to attend. Numerous attractions are being arranged for tne convention conven-tion to include tennis, golf, bicycle riding, fishing, hiking and many other sports. Incidentally, there will be a few meetings, according to Secretary Welch and local club members should make arrangements arrange-ments to attend at least one to put J. F. Wingate in the position as lieutenant governor of the southern Utah district. The Utah-Idaho district includes about 27 clubs and a large delegation dele-gation from each is expected to attend. The Kiwanis ladies will be especially entertained with a variety var-iety of events scheduled for them during the convention. |
