Show 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED One of the longest married couples in this vicinity, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Handley, well known citizens of this community, observed ob-served their -sixtieth wedding anniversary, an-niversary, Wednesday, at their home. East Second South street. Both are especially active for their years, Mrs. Handley doing her own work in the spacious home, while Ml-. Handley cares for an attractive yard and garden. Mr. Handley was born in Joe Davis county, Illinois, November 16, 1852. Later his family moved to Iowa. He has been interested in farming most of his life . and has managed several large ranches since coming west. He retired several sev-eral years ago. Mrs. Tena Winters Handley was born in - Illinois, September 6, 1862. Her early life was spent on a large farm in Iowa, where her parents went as pioneers. The couple was married at Cariol, Iowa, July 20, 1878. They came to Uta'h in 1891 and resided re-sided at East Mill Creek, Vineyard Vine-yard and also near Idaho Falls, Idaho, before coming to Spring-ville Spring-ville in 1921. They have lived here since with the exceptions of trips to the west coast. They have five sons and daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Frank Holdaway, Ralph Handley, of Vineyard; Charles Handley, McGill, Nev; Mrs. Andrew An-drew Cartwright, Tooele; George Handley, Sacramento, Calif., also 12 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. |
