Show A, W, REYNOLDS SERVICES HELD Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in the Second ward chapel Wednesday afternoon for Arthur William Reynolds, 70, retired business busi-ness man and church worker of this community, who . died Sunday Sun-day evening following a short illness at the home of a brother. Charles Reynolds, Seventh South, Third West street. Burial was in the City cemetery under direction of Claudin funeral home. Born in Springville, January 8, 1867, a son of Joseph D. and Elizabeth Taylor Reynolds.-he had lived here always. He married Maude Celia Holmes in Salt Lake City in 1893. Mrs. Reynolds and a daughter preceded him in death in 1918. During his early life he became associated with Reynolds brothers in the merchandising business, later becoming bookkeeper book-keeper for the H. T. Reynolds company store. He continued his work until 1926, when he went in business for himself. He retired re-tired in 1930. ' Mr. Reynolds was City recorder in 1903. For many years he was secretary of the entire Springville word. When the wards were divided div-ided he was sustained Fourth ward clerk, a position he also held for a number of years. In both church positions his work was often spoken of as outstanding. He was one of John Hafen's first art students stu-dents and from these instructions followed a hobby of portrait painting. paint-ing. Surviving are a son, William A. "Bill" Reynolds, Salt Lake City; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Patterson, Patter-son, Wilmington, Calif; 3 grandchildren; grand-children; 11 brothers and sisters, Mrs. Martha Alleman. Mrs. Louise Alexander, Charles A.. J. O., Edward, Ed-ward, and Arch Reynolds, Springville; Spring-ville; John T. Reynolds, San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Calif; Mark Reynolds. Provo; Pro-vo; George Reynolds, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Emma Pace, Thistle; Mrs. Velma Peterson. Idaho Falls, Idaho. Two brothers, H. T. Reynolds Rey-nolds and Joseph Alonzo Reynolds, preceded him in death.' |
