Show 1VM.G.BANNER SERVICES SET Funeral services for William G. Banner, well known and highly respected citizen of this community, com-munity, who died at a Salt Lake City hospital Tuesday tfght following fol-lowing an accident in the Salt Lake City railroad yards, Saturday, Satur-day, will be held Friday, at 2 p. m., in the Third ward chapel. Mr. Banner had been employed the past few years as flagman in the railroad yard. The accident, which cost him his life, occurred as he was flaging one train and another engine unexpectedly came up from behind and knocked knock-ed him to the ground severing the left hand. He also sustained severe body bruises and terrific shock. Mr. Banner was born in England, Eng-land, July 24, 1872. He came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Banner, to the United States, in 1892. The family came direct to Springville and Mr. Banner has spent the greater part of his life here with the exception of the time he has worked away. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Laura Jane Durtee Banner nnd the following children: Mrs. Alice Beesley, Laura Banner, Provo; Pro-vo; Ernest and Archie Banner, Springville; Arthur Banner, Pay-son; Pay-son; June Banner, Salt Lake City; also a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Nel-lie Thomas of Price, by a former marriage; 14 grandchildren anu two great grandchildren. The body is at the A. Y. Wheeler Wheel-er Mortuary and may be viewed there from Thursday noon until time for the services. |
