Mrs. Wallace Clegg left Tuesday Tues-day for a short vacation trip to Panac, Nev., where she will visit her sister, Mrs. B. J. Edwards Ed-wards and family. Members of the Ladies Literary Liter-ary club will be entertained at a bridge luncheon this evening at Keeleys, Provo. Mr. and Mrs. William Pitcher of Cardston, Alberta, Canada, have been visiting their daughter, Mrs. Frank Brown ajid family here, and also friends and relatives in Provo and Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Sergent gave a delightful party at their home last Wednesday night for members of the Busy Finger club and their partners and a few invited in-vited friends. Following a nicely arranged and tasty luncheon served serv-ed by the hostess, 500 was played. Mr. and Mrs. Bertrum Dallin was awarded high score prize for t'he games and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hanson, Han-son, the consolation. Mrs. Calara P. Bird of this city, in company with relatives from Payson and Salt Lake City left Friday for an extended eastern east-ern vacation trip. They plan to spend some time at Washington D. C, Boston, Mass., New York City, N. Y. They plan to go by way of the southern states and return re-turn by a northern route visiting places of interest enroute. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bushman of Rock Springs, Wyo. visited Mr. and Mrs. Max Kless here the past week. Mr. Bushman is manager of the Rock Springs "Rocket," town paper. Gleaner and Senior girls of thi Second ward M. I. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Dallin of Long Beach, Calif., spent a few days of the past week with relatives rela-tives and friends in Springville. They came especially to attend the M. I. A. and Primary conference con-ference m Salt Lake City. Mrs. Ora Rowland went to Salt Lake City Thursday where she plans to undergo a major operation opera-tion at the L. D. S. hospital, Sat-I Sat-I .lrday. Mr. and Mrs. J. X. Gardner and son are spending this week at Kanab, Bryce and Zion canyons. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Richmond came from Salt Lake City Sunday to visit fthe latters parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Blanchard. On Saturday they were host and hostess to a large group of friends at a canyon party. They left early this week for their home. Mrs. Roy Blanchard, the former form-er Mary Miller of this city and baby arrived recently from Denver, Den-ver, Colo., to visit relatives and friends -here. Miss Marjorie Simkins was delightfully de-lightfully surprised on her birthday birth-day Wednesday. She was twelve years oftl. Guests at the party included in-cluded Connie Livingston, Melba Whitney, Lucille Oakley, Louise Clyde, Glenna Palfreyman, Helen Mrs. H. T. Reynolds with her daughter Helen left recently to visit Mr. and Mrs. Mack Dougall at St. Louis. The four are now touring the eastern states visiting visit-ing interesting places in New York, Washington, D. C, and also a number of places in the south. They plan to return to Springville the latter part of June. Mr. and Mrs. Dougall will make their home here for the summer and return to St. Louis in September., |
