Show SOCIETY NEVS Miss Theo Childs assisted by her mother, Mrs. C. H. Childs, enter tained a number of friends at a birthday party at her home Sunday Sun-day afternoon. The girls enjoyed games and a lunch. A large number or Springville people are planning to make the hike to Mt. Timpanogos this season. sea-son. The program is scheduled for the evening of July 24. Some plan to start immediately after the program. Others will await daylight for the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Orman Weight and children spent a few days of the past week with their parents and other relatives and friends here. Mr. Weight was employed as music instructor at Hurricane the past year. Roy Blanchard of Denver, Colo., joined Mrs. Blanchard and baby here the past week for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Blanchard and Mr. and Mrs. James Miller and family., Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Johnson of this city plan to spend the week end at Ogden where they will attend at-tend Covered Wagon celebration and visit with Mrs. Johnson's parents, par-ents, Dr. and Mrs. Nephi Packard. Other members of the family plan to come to Ogden from Idaho and California, it is stated. Mrs. H. T. Reynolds Jr., accompanied accom-panied by her children and sister, Mis. Miles E. Miller of Salt Lake City, have recently returned from an extended visit to places of. interest in-terest on the west coast. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Caine Jr., and Mr. and Mrs A. W. Caine Sr., and daughter Marjorie of Salt Lake City, were Sunday ' dinner guests of Mrs. Caine's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Emmett Bird and family in this city. Dr. and Mrs. Frederick Dunn and two grandsons have recently returned from an enjoyable trip to the exposition in Texas and to other places of interest on the west coast. Miss Beth Harmer of Payson spent the wee kend with relatives and friends in Springville. Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Dorothy Hill, daughter of John S. Hill of this city, to Newell Weight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph B. Weight of this city, which took place Monday, July 20, at Provo. Announcement is also made of the marriage this week of Miss Ada Ellen Winn of Vernal to Lorin Johnson of this city. Ivan Child, accompanied by his daughters Marjorie and Yvonne Child, have just returned from an enjoyable trip through southern Utah and Nevada. They visited the Boulder dam at Boulder City, spent some time at St. George and other places of interest enroute. Berne Kindred of Tooele spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kindred of this city. ' Members of the Second ward Gleaner class will meet July 28 at the home of Miss Mina Crandall. A well arranged program will be given during the evening and all members are asked to be present. Employees of the Utah Poultry Cooperative association plants from Springville and Provo, and their partners, enjoyed a hamburger ham-burger roast in Hobble Creek canyon can-yon Tuesday night. There were present, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Rigtrup, Mr.' and "Mrs. Lawrence Johnson, Don Miner, Miss Wanda Carson, Miss Cleon Fox, and Miss Clarice Cates of Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnson,, Miss Maurintf Bigler, LaVerl Lunceford, Ruby Oliver, and Esna Williams of Provo.
