Show M MEN, GLEANER BANQUET IS WELL ATTENDED With approximately 225 young people in, attendance, the annual M Men and Gleaner Girl banquet ban-quet of Kolob stake held Friday night in the Fourth ward amusement amuse-ment hall, was one of the most successful events of its kind this season. A general theme of "Romance" was carried out. Jack Cherring- ; ton acted as master of ceremon-1 ies and Miss Ina Miner was i toastmistress. Miss Beth Ander- 1 son represented "Romance." Delia i Baxter gave a toast to Robert and Elizabeth Browning, represented repre-sented by George Bird and Miss Margaret Pierce. Miss Dama Grant gave a toast to music. Floyd Holley and Miss lone Aver-ett Aver-ett represented the two musicians, musici-ans, Robert Schuman and Clara Schuman. Ray Colton, M Men supervisor, gave a toast to statesmanship. states-manship. The colonial couple was well represented by Brent Weight and Miss Leona Roberts. Mary Huntington Hunt-ington gave a toast to art with Don Anderson representing John Hafen and Miss Virginia Tuttle, Mrs. Hafen. The modern couple was represented" by Miss ' Ida Hoffman and Carlos Hjorth. In connection with the banquet ban-quet and toasts and to further emphasize the romance theme, several music numbers were given on the program. Following the banquet and program, pro-gram, the group enjoyed dancing by Dob Orton's orchestra. |
