Mrs. Sadie McTavish of Salt Lake City, a former well known resident of Springvilie, was in this city the past week to attend at-tend the funeral services for her brothef, Thomas R. Kelley, who died recently . in Washington, D. C. Miss Marjorie Simkins has spent the past several days witn relatives and friends at Beaver. Vera Wheeler of Salt Lake City, was among the past week end visitors to Springvilie, spending spend-ing the time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wheeler. Members of the Mapleton Second Sec-ond year 4-H club under direction direc-tion of their teacher, Miss Ber-nice Ber-nice Averett, enjoyed a delightful delight-ful swimming party at Park Ro-She on Friday. Following the swim, the girls had lunch. , In attendance were, besides the teacher, Joyce Whiting, Jean Lindsey, Christie Sorenson, Shirley Shir-ley Johnson, Margaret Johnson, Beverly Allen, Coleen Hurst, Barbara Bar-bara Burgi and Gladys Garlick. Members of the L. L. L. club and a few special guests surprised sur-prised Shirley Barrett with a party at her home Friday night, on the occasion of her birthday. The group -enjoyed games, social chat and a delicious pot luck supper. In addition to club members mem-bers there were present, Erma Kelsey, Dorean Thyrett and Darren Dar-ren Barrett as special guests. Members of the recently organized or-ganized Book of Mormon club of the First ward, spent a delightful delight-ful evening Sunday at the home of Clifford Pierce. A large group attended and participated in reading and discussion of the Book of Mormon and general sociability. In conclusion, tasty refreshments, were served to about 20 class members and guests, the latter including Miss Mae Billings of Salt Lake City. The Book of Mormon club is proving a . popular and worthwhile worth-while organization among young people of the First ward, and an invitation is extended to others to join. Mrs. George Wilson of this city announces the marriage of her sister, Grace Eileene Sim, to Max C. Rawlings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Rawlings of Vineyard, Vine-yard, which took place July IS. Mrs. Rawlings who was formerly former-ly of Evanston, Wyo., has been engaged in nursing at the Dee hospital and has been in Springvilie Spring-vilie at various times during the past five years. The couple plan to make their home, in Provo. Dr. Ray S. Alleman, with Mrs. Alleman and their little son, John, of Annapolis, Maryland, are spending their summer vacation va-cation with Dr. Alleman's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Alleman Alle-man and other relatives and friends in this city.
