Show SILVER BOOST TO AID UTAH SALT LAKE CITY, July 26 U.n An estimated increase of $500,-j $500,-j 000 in income from Utah's silver mines will result from the new , price of 71.11 cents per ounce which congress recently set. The figures, compiled by A. G. McKcnzie, secretary of Utah's chapter of. the American Mining congress, were based on average production and per-ton yield of silver mines in the state over a five year period. The increase of 6.47 cents from 64.64 cents an ounce boosted the value of silver ore 4S.4 cents a ton, based on an estimate of 7.476 ounces of silver per ton of Ore. According to the compilations, which cover from 1925 to 1929, inclusive, mine workers will enjoy 33.40 per cent of the increase in pa mine's. 34.95 t)er cent will ffo for supplies and equipment and 6.39 per cent will go for taxes and miscellaneous items. . |
