Show SOCIETY E. M. Boyer of this city was honor guest at a birthday dinner party given Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Packard. The occasion also honored Fay Calvin Packard on his tenth birthday. Mr. Boyer was sixty-six. sixty-six. The dining table was centered center-ed with a low bowl , of daffodils and early spring cut flowers were used about the entertaining rooms. Dinner guests included Mrs. Delia Bird and daughters, Delia Rae and Shirley Jean, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hoffman, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Boyer Jr., and their son Fritz; Miss Betty Boyer, Glida Ann and Calvin Packard, Mr. Boyer and "Mr. and Mrs. Packard. Mrs. Dewey Snelson and her two sons Tom and Neil of Los Angeles, Calif., spent the veek end with relatives and friends in, Springville. They were the dinner din-ner guests Friday of Mrs. Melvin Johnson and family; Mrs. C. H. Thorstensen, Miss Jennie Thorstensen and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thorstensen of Og-den Og-den were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and' Mrs. D. A. Crandall. The latter couple visited the art gallery during the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert A. Towers Tow-ers with Superintendent Richard 1 Greenland of the Provo C C C camp and Mrs. Greenland, left Wednesday on a vacation trip to the canyons in southern Utah. They will also spend a short time at Las Vegas, Nev., and return by way of Arizona. Mrs. Jesse Whrtcomb of Ogden has returned to her home after several days' visit with Mrs. Austin Roylance and family in Springville. Mrs. Naomi Thorn was hostess host-ess to members of the Jeune Mere club at her home last Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. A feature of the program enjoyed by all, was a paper on "Home Decorations," by Mrs. Marie Whiting. At roll-call roll-call the members answered with household hints. The Misses Virginia Vir-ginia and Genevieve Bird entertained enter-tained with vocal selections. Preceding Pre-ceding the program a tasty and well arranged luncheon was served serv-ed to the following members: Mrs. Florence Allen, Mrs. . Lucille Lu-cille Childs, Mrs. True Clyde, Mrs. Maurine Haymond, Mrs. Beth Jensen, Mrs. Florence Nelson, Mrs. Elaine Parcel!, Mrs. Marie Whiting, Mrs. Mabel Wright, Mrs. Edna Clyde and Mrs. Gweneth Thorn. Mr. and Mrs. George Jones of this city announce the marriage of their daughter The! ma, to Don Carter, son of Warren Carter, of Payson, which took place April 16, in Salt Lake City. They will make their home in Springville. |
