Show : Local i At a meeting of the city council coun-cil Thursday evening, it was decided de-cided to hold the regular council meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month hereafter. The purchase of a new truck for the electricty department was also passed on. The kindergarten classes conducted con-ducted here as a part of theh C. W. A. program were -discontinued Friday on account of lack of funds. - - Thirteen local sportsmen participated part-icipated in a rabbit hunt to dog valley west of Nephi Sunday, killing kill-ing approximately 600 rabbits. -Their number proved unlucky however on the return trip, when one of the party cars driven by Earl Phillips ran off the highway and turned over. No one was hurt seriously. Approximately 20 women enrolled enrol-led in the C. . W. A. clothing school began here Monday. The first regular meeting was held Wednesday forenoon at the Fire hall. All women interested in remodeling, re-modeling, dying, pressing or storing clothing are urged to attend. at-tend. Harmer has returned return-ed from Long Beach, California, where she went to attend funeral services for her brother-in-law, Paul Douglass. . . I. S. Brown of this city went to Redondo Beach,. California, Saturday, Satur-day, to attend the funeral services ser-vices of his brother Amos A. Brown, who died there Friday. The "Saturday Market" one act comedy was presented by the Third ward Relief society Tuesday Tues-day afternoon. The cast included Retta Harmer, Grace Baker, Mat-tie Mat-tie Henderson, Eva Hansen, Phil-da Phil-da Finley, Millie Southerland, Elizabeth Owens, Pearl Smith, and Charlotte Black. Community singing consisted of southern melodies. Ida Bird gave violin selections. |
