Show SERVICES FOR MRS. THORPE Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in the Firut ward chapel Sunday Sun-day afternoon for Mrs. Ruth Taylor Tay-lor Thorpe, wife of Levi Thorpe and beloved and highly respected mother of this community, who died Friday at the family residence, resi-dence, following two weeks illness. ill-ness. Many friends and relatives both in Springville and out of town attended the services and the profusion of beautiful floral offerings bespoke the esteem in which the family is held in the community. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery under the direction of the Claudin uncral home. Born in Bclper Derbyshire, . England, November 17, 1?60, Mrs. Thorpe came to Springville in IS'84 with her husband and two children. She had lived hero since. She was a daughter of James and Mary Eaton Taylor. She was married to Mr. Thorpe, April 3, 1881 in the old Dufficld church Derbyshire, England. The couple celebrated the golden wedding wed-ding anniversary in 1931. j Mrs. Thorpe was an active member of the church and had served as a Relief society teacher teach-er for more than 40 years. Her passing was mourned by a host of friends in the ward and com-, com-, munity. She was the mother of twelve children. Surviving besides her husband are nine sons and daughters as follows: Mrs. Charles A. Reynolds, Mrs. Lee W. Davis, J. Albert, Arthur F., Ronald E., and Howard Thorpe of Springville Mrs. O. F. Burton, J. A., and Lewis Thorpe of Piochc, Nev., also 35 grandchildren grand-children and 21 great grandchildren. |
