Show n Larue Defeats Jack Brentano Joe LaRue defeated Jack Brentano Bren-tano two out of three falls at Park Ro-She Monday night to retain his Canadian welterweight belt in a speedy match. Larue took the second and third falls in the seventh and eighth rounds with stepover toeholds, toe-holds, after Brentano won the first fall in the fourth round with a Boston crab. Cyclone Franco, San Francisco, and Swede Lawson, Salt Lake City put on a rough and spectacular match which Franco finally won by taking the second and third falls. The two gladiators kept on battling after the bout was over and Franco was escorted through the irate fans by a couple of peace officers. Swede took tne first fall with a merry go round, Franco the second with a reverse body hold and the third with a little bit of everything, including hair-pulling, hair-pulling, slugging and what-have-you. Arcade Pierce, Springville, knocked out Perry Satch, Salt Lake City, in the third round, and Harold Pyne, Orem, decision-ed decision-ed Gunner Ostler, Spanish Fork. Floyd Hanson jumped intothe ring to challenge Larue, Brentano Bren-tano or Franco, out Henry Jones declared that Hansen wouldn't have to go any farther than Jones ' himself. So maybe a match is coming up between these two bone benders. |
