Show SPRINGVILLE 1 WOMAN DIES i ' ; ' Mrs. Mary Thomas Lewis, 69, I Gold Star mother, honorary member mem-ber of the Springville American Legion Le-gion auxiliary, died at the home of Mrs. Jane Gogaity on West Third South street in' Springville. Saturday Satur-day morning. Mrs. Lewis was born March 20, 18I1, in Daulais, South Wales. When she was 18 years of age she joined the L. D. S. church and came to Utah. She was married to John Lewis' in the St. George temple in 1880, and made her home in Sunnyside for a number of years, moving to Springville several months ago in the hope of regaining regain-ing her health. Last July, Mrs. ' Lewis was the guest of the U. S. government on the pilgrimage to the . cemeteries and battlefields of France, where she visited i the grave of her son who was killed in action. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Austen, North Bend, Ore.; Mrs. Violet Kay, Columbus, Utah; one brother and one sister in, South Wale?. Funeral services were held Tuesday Tues-day at 1 o'clock in the Spanish Fork Third ward chapel. |
