Show S O C IETY NEWS With the Valentine idea predominant predom-inant in favors and table decorations, decora-tions, a prettily arranged birthday party was given Saturday afternoon after-noon by Mrs. Ernest Oakley complimentary com-plimentary to her little daughter, Lucille, who was six years old that day. The long dining table, around which the little guests were served kincheon was centered with a pretty birthday cake on which six candles burned during the serving. Games and music were features of entertainment. The following special spe-cial invited guests: Patriarch O. B. Huntington, Miss Fannie Oakley, grandparents, and Mr. and Mrs. Lamond Oakley were present as were the little friends Glenna and Eetty Lou Palfreyman, Carol Cher-rington, Cher-rington, Louise Long, Mildred Perry, Ina Sanford, Delphia Dallin, Mauri'ne Childs, Emma Ulock, Kent and Harold Thorn, Mary Huntington, Hunting-ton, Luella Huntington, Jay Grant, Theo Childs, Margaret Larson and Carma Crandall. Mrs. Elsie Thorn assisted with the party. In honor of Wayne Hollcy, son o.' Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Holley of Mapleton, who will leave February 1 to fill a mission for the L. D. S. church in Germany a nicely arranged ar-ranged party was given at the family fam-ily home Monday evening. Features of amusement included games, music and social chat, and in conclusion con-clusion a delicious luncheon was served to about 30 relatives and friends present. Outstanding among the social events of the week-end was the sui prise party business rr.cecing j ! held Saturday evening at the home j ' of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Fullmer by j the Sons and Daughters of the Indian In-dian War Veterans and Pioneers. A delightful time was spent wtih a musical program and games, after which delicious refreshments were served to the following people present: pres-ent: Mr. and Mrs. A. Y. Wheeler, Mi-, and Mrs. Solomon Clyde, Mr. and Mrs. Estham Clegg. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Aveiett,' Mr and Mrs. Willish Strong, Mr. and Mrs. John Whiting. Mr. and Mrs. Oral Huntington, Hunt-ington, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Harrington, Harring-ton, Mr. and Mrs. William Allan. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bird, Mr. and Mrs. George Dallin, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Fullmer, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wheeler. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hall. Mrs. Effie Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gotfredson. During the evening the following officers were elected to fill vacancies in the organization: organiza-tion: secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Willis Strong; lieutenant, Elmer Bird; executive board members, George Harrison, Harvey Menden-hall; Menden-hall; invitation committee, Bert Miner, Mrs'. Ida Bird, Will Mower and Mrs. Marie Binks. Estham Clegg was recently installed as captain cap-tain of the association to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Alma Fullmer, who is now a state official. Mr. Fullmer was presented with a beautiful watch in appreciation of his services to the organization. A nicely arranged birthday party was given Saturday evening by Mrs. A. W. Harmer in honor of her daughter, Theda, who is thirteen thir-teen years. A program of games and music preceeded a dainty lunch which was served by the hostess to the following friends Misses Marie Clegg, Thelma Madsen, Margaret Pierce, Fannie Donaldson, LaRue' Alleman, Eva Starr, Naomi Harmer, Har-mer, Bernetta Turner, Rebo and Theora Tuttle and Erma Celventra. The guest of honor received many pretty gifts from those present. The regular monthly social hour of the Kolob stake Primary association asso-ciation was held Saturday beginning begin-ning at 3 o'clock in the First ward amusement hall. The officers and teachers of the First ward were hostesses. President Mae Crandall presided. The dances, songs and exercises to be used in the spring festival were rehearsed with the leaders of the various departments in charge. In conclusion light refreshments re-freshments were served to a large number of officers and teachers from the four wards of Springville and Mapleton present. The dance to be given by the Veda club of the local high school Friday evening in the gymnasium is postponed indefinitely, according to a report from officers in charge, due to the death of their leadei-, Mr. Faux. mi illllllll T1 Mrs. G. S. Condie who has been visiting in Washington, D. C, with her daughter, Mrs. Melba Osmond and family has returned to her home after about three months absence. ab-sence. With a large number of little school friends present Lois Elaine Boyer entertained at a party at her home Tuesday afternoon. The occasion oc-casion being her seventh annivar-sarv. annivar-sarv. A number of pleasant and well arranged games furnished entertainment en-tertainment and after these a dainty and delicious lunch was served.
