Show " SOCIETY, . Mrs. M. F. Miner has returned from a several days' visit at Jensen, Jen-sen, Utah where her husband is employed on bridge construction work. Mr. and Mrs. E. F-. Knudscn, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boyer and Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Johnson were conference con-ference visitors at Salt Lake during dur-ing the week end and were also the guests of Dr. and Mrs. Wallace Mace, Members of the Alpha Beta club will entertain at their annual Hallowe'en Hal-lowe'en card, party Saturday afternoon after-noon October 21 at 2 o'clock at the Firemen's hall. Reservations may be made with the various club members, the proceeds to be used for the milk and art funds of the club. Members of the Ladies' Literary club will 'be guests of Mrs. Clara Sumsion Friday evening instead of Saturday afternoon, as was scheduled. A talk on China by Mrs. Dusenberry of the B. i-.u-who recently returned from a visit to 'that country will feature the program. Mrs. Movell Day and three children chil-dren of Oakland, Calif., are visiting the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A V. Santord and other relatives here They, with Mrs. Arvil Ence were luncheon guests Thursday of Mrs. Millie Martin and family. Mrs. John R. T. club will be guests of Mrs. Harry Pennington Penning-ton at her home Thursday evening. All are asked to be present at 8 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Wilson and i son of Los Angeles and Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Fleming of Hollywood, left Saturday for their homes after a two weeks visit with relatives and friends here. The retiring officers and the newly appointed officers of the p'lrst ward genealogical society were honor guests at a banquet and social In the First ward , hall Friday evening. Over seventy-five genealogical workers and partners attended. A program, and a dance following the banquet were enjoyed enjoy-ed by all. The Daughters of Pioneers camp Springville will meet Thursday, Oct. 12 at the home of Mrs. Mary J. Finley. The retiring president, Mrs. Esther Johnson, gave a splendid paper on "Membership" and Commander Edwin Ed-win Johnson also spoke briefly on membership and extended greetings greet-ings from the legion. He was accompanied ac-companied by Vice Commander LaCellc Sumsion. Miss Gretchen Groenlie gave readings; Mrs. Ellen Anderson, vocal solos, and Miss Anna Miner and Miss Evelyn Larson, Lar-son, instrumental music accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Lucille Stowell. A tasty lunch was served to 31 members mem-bers and eight guests. The hostesses host-esses were Mrs. Esther Joh.ison, Mrs. Flora Maiben and Mrs. Ida Wignall. ent. A total of 29 scout executives from Springville attended the annual an-nual Timpanogos meet at Provo Thursday night, where Oscar Kirk-ham Kirk-ham told of his recent trip to the world scout jamboree at Hungary. Miss Louise Clyde, assisted by her mother, Mrs. W. W. Clyde, -entertained a large group of school friends at a birthday party at her home Friday afternoon, she being nine years old. A program, games and refreshments were enjoyed by all. Camp No. 1, D. U. P. is scheduled to hold their opening meeting this '. Thursday at the hom'e of Mrs. . Salena Kelsey.
