Show DEVILS FIGHT PAYSONFRIDAY Springville and Payson will battle bat-tle for the runner-up position n the Ncbo basketbafl league Friday night on the Payson floor in what promises to be a hard-fought game. The Payson quint is by no means daunted by the impressive early-season record of the Devils, especially since th'3 Simba Thorn crew was toppled by Nephi last week, 25-22. The teams are tied for runner-up runner-up place at the present time and if the fighting Spaniards can work an upset and hand the Nephites a loss, then either Payson or Spring-vine Spring-vine can step into a tie for the leadership. The Springville team has a high-powered high-powered offense an offense, however, how-ever, in which every cog of the machine must be working for full effectiveness. Four ball rustlers and "Hawk-eye" Senior, whose chief work is in slipping in field goals, make up the Springville team. The four ball rustlers, by tl?o way, are also better than average aver-age at caging baskets. Spanish Fork has the type of a team t'hat is capable of kicking over the dope and talcing a contest i from Nephi. Nephi is without doubt a gre,at team, but the Spaniards Span-iards work hard alj the time and Fenton Reeve is developing a smooth attack, centered around th"e Warren brothers and Fullmer. Eureka, will take a rest Friday and give their ace, Allison, a recess re-cess from making baskets. Allison has counted most of the points for the Tintic team in previous games. |
