Show 'Manila. Youth Awarded U P. Schola rship Pleasant View 4-H Club Girl Is Alternate; Both Have Impressive Record. George Warnick, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Warnick of the Manila ward, was awarded the annual Union Pacific agricultural scholarship scholar-ship after he had been de- clared the outstanding 4-H club worker of Utah county. The award consists of a .$100 scholarship, entitling the holder to a year's course in agriculture ot the Utah State Agricultural college. col-lege. t Outstanding Ciirl Miss A f ton Lewi-;. ' Ifi, daughter of, Mr. and Mrs. T. .1. Lewis of Pleasant View, whose record in foods club work was almost as impressive im-pressive as Warnick's, was named alternate. She is a junior in thf? Lincoln high school and will be eligible to compete for the scholarship scholar-ship next year. Young Warnick has won wide recognition at county and stale fairs where he has exhibited pure bred calves for several years. Two years ago he was the winner of the championship and the L'onnc-villc L'onnc-villc Lumber company aware!. He has been active in school and community com-munity affairs and is an eagle scout.. Miss Lewis has been, one "of the most active members of (he A -H club here and has completed four years study in foods. Last year she and Miss Marion Campbell won the judging event at the state lair and were given a free trip to t'ne Portland stock show. The two girls placed second in the demonstration event . W. W.
