Show WOMEN'S MEET IS CONCLUDED Provo club women who attended the fortieth annual convention ot the Utah Federation of Women s clubs, held in Logan, returned home Sunday, bringing enthusiastic enthusias-tic reports of some very interesting interest-ing activities. Mrs B M. Mendenhall ot Sp'.ingville was elected director from the first district. Other directors di-rectors are Mrs. Frank Francs, Osden; Mrs. E. B. Simonsen, Greenriver, and Mrs. W. S. Greenwood, Green-wood, Richfield. Leading parts on the program were taken by Mrs. Maude B. Jacob Ja-cob and Mrs. Margaret P. MaW, promiment Provo club women Other Provo women who attended Gladys C Nielsen, Mrs. Harold B. Walton, Mrs. Albert Taylor, Mrs. j N Ellcrtson, Mrs. Georgia Hansen, Han-sen, Mrs. T. Karl Pardoe and Dr. Florence Jepperson Madsen. Mrs. rieindselman, chairman of the American Home committee, gave her report, and on presidents' night, Mrs. Maw, retiring president of the Women's Council, and Mrs. Ellertson. president of the Utah Sorosis club, gave reports. Mrs. Weston Vernon of Logan, president of the federation, was in charge of the sessions Thursday, Friday and Saturday. She and all the other officers will continue in office for another year.. Next year's convention will be held in Salt Lake City. ; The Salt Lake district, represented repre-sented by the Elks' ladies chorus, under the direction or Dr. Florence Flor-ence Jepperson- Mailsen, won first places in the song contest. The report on the college loan fund showed $311.1 loaned to college students during the year. Total assets of the rund are $1970.50, including in-cluding notes on outstanding loans. Donations during the year were $100 from the federation general fund and $10 from the Wasatch Literary club of Salt Lake. The. convention favored an improvement im-provement of the motion picture product and the encouragement of junior matinees with pictures suitable suit-able for children's programs. Utah's congressional delegation will be asked to support an amendment amend-ment to the Clai k-McNary act providing pro-viding for a wider distribution of free trees for watersfiid planting. |
