Peter Forsyth and Mrs. Ernest Oakley. Members of the committee in charge, M is. G. W. Mendenhall, Mrs. Eugene Oakes, Mrs. H. M. Weight, lefreshments; Mrs. George Anderson, Mrs. M. R. Straw, Mrr. John Child. These ladies were assisted as-sisted by other members of the club. Mrs. Phoebe Smgleton was delightfully de-lightfully surprised by her sister, Mrs. James Schuler of Pay son who spent Sunday w'.th her at her home here. Later in the day hsr son, Merrill Singleton and family of Eureka, together with Mr. Han-con, Han-con, Eureka, and his wife and four children were a"ko guests at the Singleton home. Honoring Mr. and Mrs. J. Lloyd Ashcraft, who were married last week, Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Ashcraft of th.s city entertained at a wed-d'.ng wed-d'.ng dinner rt their home Friday evening. Covers were laid for the immediate families of the honored guests. An especially njoyable afternoon after-noon was spent by the members of the Ladies Literary club Saturday afternoon when they were enter- cd to the spirit of the party. Eii-idge was the principal feature ot entertainment with prizes awarded to Mr. and Mrs. William Halladay and Mr. and Mrs. David Goodman. A splendid program pro-gram announced by President Lou Einks included violin solos, Alfred Swenson; vocal solos, Frank Hjarn-son; Hjarn-son; vocal solos, Helen Palfreyman; piano solo, Mrs. Mary Bird; readings, read-ings, Miss Eunice Bird of Provo accompanied by the Farrer sisters at the piano and violin; dance solo, Tess C. Packard. A pretty color scheme employing Hallowe'en motifs and emblems added to the attractive banquet hall where 70 ladies were seated at one long table. Hallowe'en colors were predominant pre-dominant throughout the delicious luncheon which was in charge of hostesses Mrs. G. D. Kennedy, Mrs. Arvil Bird, Mrs. Joseph Grant, Mrs. Ernest Oakley and Mrs. Jasper Thorn. In honor of Mr. and Mrs. Arch V. combs of Hershey, Nebraska, the members of the Soirl Twelve clnb entertained at a Hallowe'en party-Tuesday party-Tuesday evening at the home o Mr- and Mrs. Lewis Clegg. Ghosts and gobblins met each guest and the door and they were ushered into rooms elaborately decorated in Hallowe'en colors. A delightful time was spent playing progressive "500" seven tables for the game being be-ing arranged. Prizes were won by Mrs. Leo Sumsion, Mrs. Norfis Binks and George Crandall. A delicious de-licious luncheon was served to the guests of honor and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Baxter, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Sumsion, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rowland, Row-land, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clegg. Mrs. Isabel Isa-bel l;ird entertained with two vocal vo-cal selections and Miss Margaret Sumsion with a piano solo. President Presi-dent Helen Crandall presided. In honor of her little daughter, Evelyn, whose eighth birthday occurred oc-curred Saturday, Mrs. Ralph Reed entertained at a prettily arranged patty at her home in the afternoon. Hallowe'en goblins and witches added to the spirit of the party and Hallowe'en colors were carried out in the dainty lunch. Miss Metcalf and Miss Wright are members of the Nepni high school faculty, while Mr. Metcalf Met-calf is an instructor in the Park City schools. Mr and Mis. E. J. Clark of East St. Louis, 111-, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. Boyer of this city were thc dinner guests of Mrs. James Ellis on Sunday. Mrs. Clara Bate of this city was honor guest at a delightful birthday birth-day dinner given at her home Sunday Sun-day by her children and friends.
