Show The World Never Changed For the Worse A useful thought to keep handy these days is this: Every change in world affairs, since the dawn of history, his-tory, has been for the better. What, has held back world progress has always been ' the fear of change. , It is evident we are gonig to have some kind of change I in the conduct of things. Everyone desires it, from Dr. Hoover Hoo-ver down to tho lowiiest unfortunate who has been out of , work for months. j. We cannot go on with millions of unemployed, not only 1 in this nation, but in almost every other. No one wants to. , That means a change in our industrial system, perhaps bigger than that caused by the advent of steam power, which revolutionized industry. Some people fought the coming- of power and the lift-I: lift-I: ing from the backs of mankind of soul-kiiling drudgery. ! How foolish they were ! i The power age has conferred limitless Blessings on man- j kind. I ' Unfortunately, it also has brought along some curses I. with it. But those can be ironed out, if humanity wants to iron them out. ! Just what the change will be we don't know. It will be more or less unsettling, perhaps a bit painful. All of , I us will have to put up with inconvenience while it's going on. If we use our heads, it will be a peaceful change, led by , men of brains, done in an orderly manner, as it should be. The main thing to remember is that the world never changes anything for tho worse. Every change means better bet-ter times, greater justice, fuller opportunities for all of us. Don't be afraid of change; it is the only way by which we can progress. |
