They came especially to attend the graduation exercises of their son Neill from the Brigham Young university. Bernice Nielson, Niel-son, Marie Simkins and Miss Bessie Finley, the latter being the faculty advisor of the class. Mr. and Mrs. John S. Boyer, Miss Mary Boyer, Miss Helen and June Fox, Ann, Lula and Phyllis Boyer motored to Richfield last week end to visit Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Buchanan Buchan-an and family. Members of the 4-H club met at the home of their leader Mrs. Lou Pack Tuesday evening. A short business meeting was held and plans for a party were discussed by the girls. Seven members and one guest, Miss Carol Burgon were present. Melvin Dalby is visiting his wife and baby here at the home of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Sumsion. Joseph Houston of Panguitch is the guest of his daughter Mrs. Hugh Baxter and family in this city. Mr. Houston, who is eighty years old, came here ,from California Cali-fornia where he has visited other relatives and friends for several j weeks. this city attended an elaborate din-ne din-ne party given by Mrs. Amanda Km.dsen at the Roberts hotel, Pn vo, Wednesday evening complimentary compli-mentary to her son Clarence ."Si.ky'' Knudsen, who is to be mar-rii mar-rii d to Miss Viola Morris early this week. Mr. and Mrs. Knudsen will attjnd a wedding reception given by the bride's mother in Salt Lake Wednesday evening. Mr. and MrB. John R. Kindred entertained at a sumptuous chicken dinner at their home Wednesday evening in honor of their daughter ind husband, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Vebster, who were recently mar-, mar-, ied. overs were laid for eighteen mmediate family members, Mr. and Mrs. Webster left Saturday .noming for Rexburg, Idaho, where they will make their home this summer. They plan to leave in the early fall for Ames, Iowa, where Mr. Webster will continue his studies. Mrs. W. G. Parker of Soldier Summit spent several days of the past week with her daughter Mrs. Lloyd Bird and family here. Joseph W. Allen of this city celebrated cele-brated his eightieth birthday anniversary an-niversary with a reunion of his children and grandchildren Sunday Sun-day in American Fork canyon. The entertainment was given as a surprise to Mr. Allen. At noon a delicious picnic dinner was spread at one long table which was centered, cen-tered, with a beautiful birthday cake, holding 80 candles. Later an interesting program was given by the family members and was enjoyed en-joyed by all. In attendance at the celebration were: Mrs. Mell Chase and family, Mr. and Mrs. Merve Metz and family, Mr. and Mrs. E. Mrs. A. W. Cherington, leader, ; was hostess to the members of the : 4-H Sewing club at her home Wed- j nesday evening. The girls made pajamas and discussed plans for J their next meeting which will be held at the home of Mrs. Frank Sanford Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs.. A. O. Thorn and Mrs. Eliza Thorn left Thursday for a week's trip to St. George and other cities in southern Utah. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Knudsen went to Ephraim Saturday evening to attend at-tend the wedding reception of Miss Vera Knudsen, daughter of President Presi-dent and Mrs. Milton H. Knudsen and O. Martell Anderson, Saturday |
