"I'll bo shot." He was then sentenced to be shot at sunrise on May 17, and under the original ruling, would have only two more ; days to live. His attorneys, how-ever, filed no- : tice of appeal, and this automatically automatical-ly postponed the execution date. The appeal must he taken to the supreme court within six months from tly. time of judgment, and . the court must review the case within 30 days after receiving the i appeal. Final decision, therefore, ' may not be reached until late in ' October. ' Green was convicted of murdering murder-ing his uncle, James Green, in a farmhouse near Layton, Utah, last January 4. He also confessed to killing his 16-year-old wife and her mother, Mrs. James Green, the same night. The triple killing followed fol-lowed a quarrel between the young couple. Utah gives her convicted murderers murder-ers the choice between hanging and : facing the filing squad. Only one of 32 executed at the penitentiary chose to be hanged. |
