Show SOCOY;NES An especially enjoyable program and social was given in honor of mothers by the Alpha Beta club members Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. G. W. Mendenhall. A itunt by Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Jr., Mrs. Charles Boyer, Mrs. E. M. Boyer and Mrs. Zina Condie entitled en-titled "When Mother Had a Beaux," delighted the guests as did also the vocal solos by Miss Catherine R. Dougail ; comic reading by Rev. Harold L. Wilson; solos by Miss Al-beita Al-beita Mendenhall; readings by IuT5s Donna Salisbury and a story by Mrs. Mark Cook. Mrs. George Anderson An-derson presided at the affair and j carnations were presented each mother. The presentation was made The Daughters of the Pioneers, camp No. 1, were entertained j Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Julia Maycock. The history of pioneer George B. Matson, was given in an interesting manner by his granddaughter, Mrs. Hazel E Whiting of Mapleton. Additional piogram numbers included two vocal vo-cal solos by Mrs. Mildred Jarvis; readings, Mrs. Vera Evans Stoker; piano solo, Mrs. Blanch G. Hales. A dainty uncheon concluded the afternoon's entertainment and was served to eight guests and 15 members mem-bers present. Assisting hostesses were Mr. Willis Sumsion and Mrs. 1 Julia Anthon. The regular meeting of the Service Ser-vice Star Legion scheduled for Thursday, May 15, will be postponed until the following Thursday, May 22. Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Sr., will N hostess on this day and Mrs. J. W. Aird of Provo will give the principal talk of the afternoon. All members are urged to attend. The members of the Ladies Literary Liter-ary club entertained their mothers at the home of Mrs. C. G. Salisbury Saturday afternoon with a program ami luncheon. Miss Donna Salisbury Salis-bury gave in splendid manner the play, "Mary-Rose"; Harold and made by Mrs. Sarah Packard and the acceptance by Mrs. G. S. Condie. A delicious luncheon was served with the following special invited guests present: Mrs. Almina Bram-all, Bram-all, Mrs. G. S. Condie. Mrs. M. J. Deal, Mrs. H. T. ileynolds, Mrs. Rhoda Groesbeck, Mrs. A. C. Thorn, Mrs. Phoebe Singleton, Mrs. George .Witney, Mrs. John Boyer, Mrs. William Wil-liam Wainwright, Mrs. JosepTTThe Brinton. Mrs. Julia Packard, Miss Giaco Oakes, Mrs. Charles Berry, Mrs. James Straw, Mrs. Will Reams and Mrs. Knudsen of Provo. The last meeting of this season for the Alpha Beta club will be held Friday, May 23, with Mrs. Will Witney as hostess. Glenn Holley furnished several -vocal and instrumental duets and Miss Helen Carnesecca entertained with harmonica selections. A color . scheme in pink and green was cor- ; ried out during the luncheon which j was served at small tables. Guests of honor included Mrs. Celestia Boyer, MVs. A. W. Each guest was presented with a carnation during the luncheon, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Kindred and little daughter Kathleen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, were guests on I Mothers' day at the Tiome of Mrs. Kindred's parents. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kindred of this city. Miss Erma Haymond and Miss I Ruth Mendenhall entertained -i a j delightful party Friday evening at the home of the latter for a number of girl friends. Mrs. Colista Boyer spent a.i enjoyable en-joyable day Sunday when er children chil-dren and famflirr; came from Salt Lake to spend Mothers' day. Dinner Din-ner was served to 18 family members mem-bers including Mrs. Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. P. O. Boyer and children, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Boyer and family, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Boyer and son and Mr. andMrs. Frank Salisbury and son. As an oppression of appreciation for her work in the Red Cross home nursing class conducted herb Mrs. Evelina Reed was honor guest at a party given by glass members at the home of Mrs. G. R. Maycock Monday evening. A musical program pro-gram and social chat were the principal prin-cipal features of amusement and were followed by a dainty lunch.
