Mr. and Mrs. Earl Palfreyman and children and Mrs. Stanley Staten were Springville visitors Sunday. Mr. Palfreyman has re-' cently been promoted as assistant . manager of the Metropolitan Life Insurance company for the Salt Lake district. Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Bird were guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Lambert Lam-bert in Salt Lake Monday. Mrs. Colista Eoyer has returned home after an enjoyable visit with her son John and family in -California. Alpha Beta club ladies spent a delightful de-lightful afternoon Friday at the home of Mrs. M. R. Straw. A feature fea-ture of the program was a talk by Miss Marie Ward on her European travels. Other splendid numbers were a solo by Catherine R. Doug-all, Doug-all, accompanied by Alzada Wil-mott; Wil-mott; piano solo, Marjorie Straw. Mrs. Lillian Huntington- and Mrs. Sadie Packard gave a report on the district convention. Present were 19 club members and one guest. Mrs. Lowry Anderson was welcomed wel-comed as a new member. A dainty luncheon concluded the afternoon. T. E. Child, Sr., of this city was honor guest at a nicely arranged social given Saturday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Peterson, in celebration of his seventy-sixth birthday anniversary. A pleasant evening of social chat and music was enjoyed by all. Luncheon was served at one long table which held a beautiful birthday birth-day cake in the center. Guests included in-cluded Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Child, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Will Child, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Peterson, Venetta Peterson, Leona and Carl Peterson, Peter-son, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Peterson, Mrs. Sarah Arthur of Salt Lake, Mrs. Frances Peterson, Mrs. Ellen Wheeler, and Mrs. Norma Snow of Provo. Mrs. V. C. Mendenhail was hostess host-ess to the Home Culture club ladies at her home Friday afternoon.
