Taylor, deputies of Salt Lake county, anil Thomas World, police officer, questioned ques-tioned Astin Saturday at Frew, and rejtorted his confession to a series of burglaries and thefts J." Suit Lake City during the fall and winter months. Astin's confessions are alleged to have been far-reaching, and include he following: Burglary at Stop lun, 3228 Highland drive. December 15. theft of $12 in merchandise, chiefly candy and cigarets; at Highland High-land Drive inn. 2220 Highland drive 1 .January 5. theft of four wrist, watches, $Ui.S0 cash and other articles; arti-cles; Dixie Hnffle si and, Sugar-house, Sugar-house, Ociober 7, taking, he said, about $32. Besides tbe alleged burglaries, he is said to have admitted stealing a gum machine from the Sugarhouse bank last, full: a brief case, containing con-taining valuable books from an automobile in front of !Kt4 Hamona avenue an automobile robe and blankets from an automobile nt Thirty-third South and Highland drive, and a suitcase and men's clothing from an automobile in Sugarhouse. |
