Show In The Social Realm Mrs. Manilla Brown Kcportr, rhoue ijg-v. Mr. and Mrs. Dimick Huntington and daughters, Lucy and. Olive, motored to Salt Lake Wednesday, where they attended the opera, "The Chocolate Soldier," given at Nibley park. Mrs. Hazel Shepherd spent the past week in Salt Lake City, a guest of Mrs. Andrew Lindell. She returned re-turned Saturday, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Johnson, Miss Maud Groesbeck and Miss Jettie Shepherd. A delightful social evening was spent Friday when Miss Alberta Mendenhall entertained a number of friends at her home. After playing play-ing a number of games the party motored to Edgewater and enjoyed dancing. They later returned to the Mendenhall home, where delicious delic-ious refreshments were served by the hostess. Those included in the party were: Misses Almina Mendenhall, Men-denhall, Inez Starr, Beatrice Wheeler, Wheel-er, Virginia Childs and Tess Childs; Howard Thorpe, Rex Packard, Ar-deen Ar-deen Van Leuvan, Ira Tayor, Raymond Ray-mond Parker and Jay Madsen. MUTUAL BEGINS The First ward M. I. A. will begin be-gin their regular work Tuesday evening. eve-ning. The members of the Second ward Primary were entertained Monday afternoon at the city park. Lessons for the month of August were reviewed, re-viewed, after which a number of games were played and light refreshments re-freshments served by the officers and teachers. A pleasant social affair of the week was the wedding breakfast , given Monday by Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Crandall, Jr., at their summer i home at Kelley's Grove, in compli-j compli-j ment to their son Gordon and wife. Interesting games were enjoyable features. A. girls from ! three wards of Springville left Tuesday Tues-day morning to spend three days at Mutual Isle. They were chaperoned by Miss Lois Blanchard, Mrs. Man-ford Man-ford Hutchinson and Mrs. Wayne Johnson. Martin Diamond of Springville and Mrele Allred of Provo; were married at the county court house Saturday. The ceremony was performed per-formed by E. Byron Dastrup, county clerk. The ladies of the Social Twelve Card club will be entertained Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Amasia Rowland. Cards will be featured and all members are asked to be present. Mrs. Charles Boyer was a guest Tuesday evening at a delightful bridge luncheon given by Mrs. Wallace Wal-lace Mace at her home in Salt Lake in compliment to Mrs. Edward Van Doorn of Phoenix, Arizona. Mrs. Clara Benson of Salt Lake was " hostess at a well arranged bridge luncheon given at her home Saturday afternoon. Guests from Springville included Mrs. J. K. Gardner, Mrs. Charles Boyer and Miss Carol Bird. A number of young folks of Springville formed a party last Thursday evening and motored to Salt Lake, where a show at the Pantages and supper were enjoyed. Those included in the party were: Misses Molley Bird, Hannah Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Alice Crandall, Raymond Parker, Elden Ashe raft and Harold Goates. Among the out-of-town guests present were Mrs. J. O. Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Mrs. J. A. Reynolds and Mrs. D. C. Brimhall. Mrs. John D. Crandall was hostess Sunday at a well arranged dinner given at her home.
