Mrs. Hurry Ilanford was in Salt! Lake Monday visiting with her son : Paul. Mrs. Harold Harwood and little soil Bay were the guests Monday of Mrs, G. Kay Hales of Spanish Fork- Mrs. I). A. Crandall has returned from Ogden, where she has been visiting for the past month. Mrs. X. M. Eldredge, of Poeatelhi, Idaho, is visiting with her sister. Mrs. J. M. Wonnaeott, (Mrs. W. E.'G. Saunders of Kin-iiHJsburg, Kin-iiHJsburg, Iowa, national president of the Service Star Legion was honored hon-ored at a luncheon at the Spriimvillc high school by the Springville organization or-ganization Thursday afternoon. She was accompanied by Mrs. Wells Cannon president of the Utah state organization. There were a number num-ber of guests from Provo and SaTl Lake City. The luncheon was followed fol-lowed by a public meeting at the high school auditorium. Mrs. C. A. AUeinan entertained for her daughter LaUay Tuesday evening in honor of her birthday. Many games were played by the small guests and a dainty luncheon served to eighteen. Miss Thelnm Boyer entertained Saturday evening for the following: Mr. and Mrs. Harlen Boyer, Floyd Ashcraft, Mrs. Donna Snell, Miss Helen Manwaring, Miss Kuth Allan, Miss Francis Wonnacott, Miss Mer-rell Mer-rell Clark, Dean Bench, Reed Johnson, John-son, Ole Viekland, Blaine Blackcft, Frank Marvin. The home was prettily pret-tily decorated with potted plants and pink carnations. Games and music were enjoyed and a delicious lap luncheon served. Mr. and Mrs. George Simkins entertained en-tertained at Sunday dinner in compliment com-pliment to the following: Mr. William Will-iam H. White and family, Mrs. Clara Crockett of Ogden, and Mrs. Reba Loveless of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Miner had as their guest Sunday Mr. and Mrs. i Frank Memory, of Spring Canyon,; Mr. and Mrs. George Kussell, Mr. I and Mrs. Oliver Dalton, and S. E. Dalton. Mr., and Mrs. M. O. Grooms and Mr. and Mrs. G. Ray Hales of Spanish Fork and their son Delbert. The table centerpiece was a bowl of pink sweet peas. The Springville Floral company has been sold to J. M. Eldridge and F. E. Ilnish. The contract for the construction of Springville's new power house in Hobble Creek canyon, which was advertised; for bids last week was let to Ernest A. Strong and Joseph Jo-seph AV. Grant, who were nearly $300 under the next lowest bidders. The Boosters Athletic club of the Springville high school is giving a:i Easter ball in the Springville opera house Friday April 2. The proceds will go for the benefit of the annual art exhibit. Music will be furnished by the Ariel quartet quar-tet and orchestra. The twenty members present pres-ent voted to help one week iu the art movement. Mrs. Milan Straw was appointed chairman of the child education movement. Piano solo by Miss Mildred Anderson and a dance by Miss Hazel Anderson. Invited guests were Mrs. J. M. Parry Par-ry of Provo and Mrs. Taylor of Salt Lake City. The hostess served n dainty luncheon. A farewell surprise party was given last week for Glen Harrison, who is leaving for St. Louis, Missouri, Mis-souri, in the near future to work during the construction of furnaces for a steel plant there for the Midland Mid-land Coke and Iron Coroporntion. Miss Lucille Wiscombe and Miss Agnes Firmage enlertained at the former's home Friday evening in honor of Miss Pauline Firmage, wiio. with her parents, is moving away.
