Show MOONSHINE DISPENSER GIVEN JAIL Sheriffs Interfere With Lively Party at East Tintic and Confiscate Drinks The social fiber of East Tintic was again disturbed Tuesday night when a somewhat notorious resort near the Summit was raided by the local sheriff's office, and FraDk LeLux, 35, was arrested on a charge of dispensing moonshine whiskey to patrons of the place. "It was "a sort of pantomime for the officers," Sheriff Boyd told a . Heruld reporter in discussing the affair. The sheriff accompanied by Deputies Bird, Davis and Coates, had taken a reserved seat among some huge boulders a short distance from the front of the house, from which point they could see the liquid refreshments being dispensed with regularity to all comers. Just as the party began to get intensely interesting the sheriff and his aid-de-camp dropped in to pay their respects. Upon sight of the officers cold chills began to curvate up and down the spines of the host and his guests. LeLux was asked to serve all the booze he had, which 'the sheriff reports, amounted to a gallon on ice. The party ended up in Judge George S. Ballifs court this morning morn-ing with LeLux receiving 90 days in .the county jail and a $200 fine. If the fine is paid within thirty days the prisoner will be released at that time on his good behavior. |
