THOU SHALL NOT allow the Canadian Thistle to ripen its fruit, lest they be cast about by the waters of the earth, the beasts of the field and the birds of the air. TllOU SHALL NOT permit the Quack Grass to grow under thy fctt, nor even under the feet of thy manservant. It is an evil thing. THOU SHALL NOT by neglect, allow the White Top to multiply itself. Its seed are as the sands of the sea and it advances like i a fire in the dry grass, i THOU SHALL NOT gaze upon the ripening flower of the Russian Knapweed, but rather shall ye stamp it out as ye would a serpent, for, verily if ye fail so to do, a day of reck-; ! oning will be thy reward. THOU SHALL NOT Grow thy grains upon the fields which contain these tares lest thy lands be laid waste and the fruits of thy labor denied thee. It is the law. THOU SHALL NOT suffer the machine that is to flail thy grain, nor the carts of the husbandman that are to garner thy harvest, to enter upon thy fields unless they be cleaned. He who fails in this will live to repent the day. THOU SHALL NOT purchase thy seeds for thy fields from a stranger within thy gates. Beware, at all times, lest ye sow seed from which tares will arise to vex thee. THOU SHALL NOT fail to extend thy aid to those that strive to assist thee in cleansing the lands that have been given thee. Thy labors will be as bread upon the waters and thy rewards will return to thee a thousandfold. THOU SHALL NOT suffer thy lands to become unclean, rather shalt thou, by the sweat of thy brow and the aid of thy asses and thy mtnservants, cast out these devils from within thy fields. Be ye as the ant, thou sluggard, for verily there is not one among you who will be held guiltless if he fail to keep these commandments. |
