McNeill pointed out that more than four years ago a committee, headed by Lord Meston, was appointed ap-pointed to investigate the grant sys tem in education. An immediate report by the committee was expected ex-pected immediately but each month the report was asked for it was promised "in another month." The final meeting of the eommit-lee eommit-lee was called in March, 1923, and dttring the summer of 1024 a complete com-plete report was promised to Par liament.
